Project Background
A newly built PV module production base in Java, Indonesia, required an efficient, wind-resistant lifting solution for its raw material yard to handle silicon materials and glass substrates. Located on the coast, the site experiences year-round monsoon winds and open, unobstructed conditions, placing strict demands on equipment wind resistance and lightweight design.
Needs Assessment & Solution Design
Harriet, Sales Manager at Yu’an Crane, collaborated with the client’s project team to define core requirements:
- One 10-ton truss-type gantry hoist crane with a 25m span, covering the entire raw material yard
- Equipment capable of withstanding strong coastal winds with excellent wind stability
- Lightweight design for quick installation to meet rapid production needs of the temporary yard
- Long-term stable operation in tropical high-temperature and high-humidity environments
The technical team designed a tailored truss-type gantry hoist crane solution:
- Truss main beam structure reduces weight by 30% compared to traditional box beams, minimizing wind resistance and improving wind stability
- Equipped with intelligent wind-resistant rail clamps and anchoring devices that automatically detect wind speed and lock the equipment
- Special high-temperature and anti-corrosion coating for Indonesia’s tropical climate
Custom Manufacturing & Quality Assurance
Production began with customized specifications:
- Modular truss main beams were prefabricated for on-site quick assembly, significantly reducing installation time
- All welded joints underwent ultrasonic testing to ensure structural integrity
- Electrical systems featured IP55 dust and water protection for high-temperature, high-humidity environments
- Additional lightning protection and grounding systems were installed to address frequent thunderstorms in Indonesia
During production, Harriet implemented a “weekly progress visualization” system, allowing the client to monitor production in real-time via video calls. Key processes were also inspected by the client’s on-site representatives to ensure compliance.
Cross-Border Logistics & On-Site Installation
To optimize logistics efficiency, the crane was disassembled into standardized modules and shipped via bulk cargo, reducing transportation costs and avoiding customs delays for oversized goods.
On-site, the installation team completed assembly and commissioning in just 3 days. Dynamic testing of the wind-resistant rail clamps confirmed reliable locking under 12-level gusts, and the equipment passed acceptance by a local third-party agency.
Personnel Training & Client Feedback
Bilingual online training was provided, covering equipment operation, wind emergency procedures, and maintenance in tropical environments.
Since delivery, the PV base has seen a 40% increase in material turnover efficiency. The client’s Logistics Director commented:
“Yu’an’s truss-type gantry crane is perfectly suited to our coastal yard. Its lightweight design offers excellent wind resistance, and the rapid installation exceeded our expectations, providing valuable time for our PV module mass production.”
